Ebrington Primary School near Chipping Campden in the Cotswolds asked Total Lighting & Controls to look at replacing the old fluorescent lighting in one of the classrooms due to half of them not working. The six twin 70 Watt fluorescent light fittings were replaced with 54 Watt LED battens on a one for one basis. The existing lighting was costing approximately £244.00 per annum to run, which was reduced to an estimated £70.00 per annum, saving £144.00 (67%) per annum. The poor light levels were improved to meet an average illuminance of 370 lux, to make the classroom much brighter. The old lighting was proving costly to run, and now both running and maintenance costs have been reduced significantly.
