Before Upgraded Lighting Installation
Red Star Growers who supply fresh produce to the major supermarkets, wholesale and catering outlets in the UK asked Total Lighting & Controls to design and supply an LED lighting upgrade for their pack house.
The solution was to replace the existing twenty 250 Watt metal halide light fittings with the Lando 24000 lumen LED luminaire on a one for one basis. The existing lighting electrical load was halved, therefore reducing the electrical cost by 50%.
The main purpose of the upgrade was not only to reduce running cost, but to improve light levels, which increased from 200 lux to over 500 lux average illuminance. Also with a colour temperature of 4000K and a CRI 80 colour rendition was improved significantly.
Lando LED comes complete with an expected lifetime in excess of 70,000 hours and a 5 year Tridonic / Philips system warranty, eliminating maintenance costs.
