Total Lighting & Controls were invited to St Paul’s Church in Shurdington, Cheltenham to discuss the feasibility of replacing the internal lighting at the church.
The existing halogen lighting was unreliable, expensive to run and provided a poor light level. The recommendation was to replace the halogen lighting with the Azuma 28 Watt LED spotlight which produces a lumen output of 4,163 lumens and a warm light of 3000 Kelvin. A 5-year warranty is provided as standard.
A lighting design to provide 300 lux average illuminance was approved by the Diocese of Gloucestershire, and the proposal was accepted.
The new LED lighting has not only improved light levels, reduced running and maintenance costs, but provided up-lighting to highlight the ancient ornate wooden ceiling in the Nave.
The church committee and parishioners are highly delighted with the new LED lighting and cannot believe the transformation the lighting has made to the interior of the church.
