Warden Hill Primary School – LED Lighting

Total Lighting & Controls were invited by Warden Hill Primary School in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire to provide a solution for replacing fifteen fluorescent bulkhead light fittings, which had heavy glass diffusers, and were considered to be a health and safety risk.

The solution that Total Lighting suggested was to replace the bulkheads in the library with a 24 Watt circular LED bulkhead with a light weight polycarbonate diffuser, which not only satisfied safety concerns, but improved light levels and reduced energy consumption.

The issue in the corridors was not only the diffusers, but there was no emergency lighting. The solution Total Lighting provided was to replace the existing bulkheads with a 10 Watt circular LED bulkhead with the light weight polycarbonate diffuser, plus an in-built motion sensor. This allowed for the installation without costly rewiring of the electrical circuits required for the emergency lighting. The light switches were replaced with test key switches for the emergency lighting tests. This solution not only provided the improved health and safety, but increased light levels and energy savings in the area.

Staff immediately commented on the improved light levels and the automated on / off in the corridors. Another simple and effective lighting solution provided by Total Lighting & Controls.
